Come along to our willow weaving workshop and create a round bird feeder which can also be used as a plant holder. Using traditional basketry techniques.
In this 3 hour workshop we will be using a range of willow from the Somerset levels. The willow will be prepared beforehand and each person in the workshop will be supplied with an individual set of the tools required.
A jig frame will be used to form the circle shape and this will be held on your lap. Please wear trousers if possible and an apron is desirable as the willow will be damp. I’ll keep the shop window open to keep the air flowing so please wear warm clothes.
We’ll make a bird feeder using the jig but they can be different sizes if preferred and we can explore different willow colour combinations.
If you haven’t been to Locally Produced for You before please come through the Health Food Store (next to Specsavers) and out of the back of that shop and up the stairs where everything will be ready for you.
Teas and coffees will be provided but please bring your own if you would prefer.
